Last Chance to Enter the Aftermath Scholarship Contest

Aftermath has been performing crime scene cleanup, trauma cleaning, and suicide cleanup services for almost 20 years. The company was founded in 1996 when two lifelong friends came to the aid of a neighbor whose family had just experienced a difficult and personal tragedy. Since that time, we have dedicated ourselves to providing all customers with the same level of compassionate, personal care. Furthermore, this summer we are giving back to the communities we live and work in by featuring contests and giveaways that draw upon our foundations.

Aftermath’s philosophy is centered on three supporting pillars: safety, education, and community. Safety is a primary concern on every job we do – we use the most innovative methods and equipment to ensure we achieve the highest standards of clean. Furthermore, our employees are trained on important safety procedures such as lock-out-tag-out and the proper use of PPE. We also provide training to first responders and other organizations on critical subjects relating to biohazard cleanup.

In addition, we regularly participate in charity activities like Red Nose Day. We also host drawings and contests such as the Aftermath K9 Raffle, and more recently the Aftermath Community grant, which awards a single winner $2500 to donate to a charity of their choice.

Early this summer, we also announced the creation of the 2015 Aftermath Services Collegiate Scholarship. This scholarship is designed for anyone pursuing an advanced degree (or certificate) in any major or subject area. The essay portion of the contest draws on the importance of biohazard safety in the workplace, relating the necessity of universal biohazard cleanup safety, and reinforcing the best practices of the industry as embodied by Aftermath Services.

The essay will be reviewed by committee and judged on several criteria. Entrants must also meet certain qualifications to be considered eligible, including:

• Be enrolled or have the intent to enroll in a higher education institution. 2- or 4-year programs, certificate programs, and graduate programs are all acceptable. All majors are eligible.
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A copy of your transcript required (unofficial transcript accepted).
• Complete the application and written essay portion of the scholarship.

As of 6/28, we have received over 500 entries to the contest! Don’t hesitate – get your application in today. Entry forms and essays are due tomorrow at midnight (6/30/15).
