Aftermath Joins the Johnson Co Kansas Sheriff’s 2018 Shootout to Benefit the Special Olympics

On April 21st, Aftermath Regional Manager Jeremy Lemon attended the Johnson County Kansas Sheriff’s Office 2018 Shoot-Out to benefit the Special Olympics. As in previous years, the Shoot-out was held at Mill Creek Rifle Club in Desoto, KS; over 300 officers and civilians attended, including Aftermath’s Regional Manager, Jeremy Lemon.

This marked Jeremy’s third year representing the company at the annual event. Despite the rainy weather, he reported that everyone was in great spirits: “Both the officers and community are always enthusiastic about this event, and the fact that it benefits Special Olympics,” Jeremy said. 100% of the profit for the Shoot-out is given to charity. Last year’s Shoot-out earned over $14,000 for Special Olympics Kansas, an organization which offers year-round recreational opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The day’s activities included a shooting competition with both team and individual categories, plus raffles and door prizes. Aftermath gave away a signature 5.11 tactical bag and PPE kit. The winner was Corporal Ryan Giles, Academy Instructor. Breakfast and lunch were also provided. “This event seems to get more and more organized with each year of our attendance,” Jeremy explained. “It has also grown exponentially in size, each year I have attended. The competitive nature of the shootout creates a fun, laid-back environment, so it is easy to engage the attendees.”

Jeremy spent much of the day answering questions from guests about the company’s work. “After visiting with us, attendees understood what we offered and how we could assist their communities,” he said. “Most people who approached me were unclear exactly how someone would contact us for services and how payment worked with insurance and other funds. I explained the importance of biohazard cleaning, and discussed our programs and how we work with insurance companies to aid families during difficult circumstances.”

Thank you again to the officers and citizens of Johnson County for being so welcoming, and for giving the community an opportunity to come together to help the marvelous and talented athletes of the Special Olympics.
