With offices all over the US, it can be tough for a nationwide company like Aftermath Services to come together and feel like one big community. However, last Thursday (May 21st) Aftermath joined thousands of other companies and individuals across the nation to raise awareness for Red Nose Day US, an event which contributes aid to over a dozen children’s charities in the US and worldwide. It was an exciting day for us, and we have the pictures to prove it!
According to the charity’s website: “The funds raised during the Red Nose Day campaign will be given to a variety of nonprofit organizations that transform children’s lives. This year we’ve partnered with twelve amazing organizations working in the US and abroad. The great news is the half the money distributed will be spent right here in the US at projects close to home. The other half will be spent in some of the poorest communities in the world in Africa, Asia and Latin America.”
Celebrating with laughter and raising awareness on Red Nose Day is just one of the ways Aftermath has given back to the communities where we live and work. Compassionate service for the families we assist is a major part of the Aftermath Way, and Community is one of our Pillars of Service. Aftermath employees demonstrate company values through personal volunteer efforts as well as group projects, contributing their (seemingly limitless!) time and energy to causes such as cancer awareness, police and firemen’s organizations, veterans charities, animal shelters and other pet related groups, and assisting the homeless through food and clothing drives for local soup kitchens, churches, and food pantries.
This week, Aftermath announced its 2015 Community Matters Campaign. And the best part? This exciting opportunity gives you the chance to give back, too! Simply fill out the form on the right of the webpage and you’ll be entered to win a $2500 Community Grant, given to any charity or organization of your choice. It only takes seconds to enter, but the impact could make a big difference to a national charity or organization in your home town. See all the rules and details here.
This spring, Aftermath also announced the Aftermath Collegiate Scholarship Essay Writing Contest, which will award 2 lucky writers with a $1000 scholarship contribution toward their education. All majors and college grade levels are welcome to enter. The application and essay prompt are available on our website, and all entries must be received by June 30th.
While our contests are designed to give back to the communities we serve, we hope they also encourage you to take a moment to contribute directly to your own community. Whether you coach children’s soccer, distribute water to the homeless during a heatwave, or give $10 to your local food bank, summer opportunities abound! No matter what your skill set, age, or financial ability, there is a group out there that will be happy to have your help.
Good luck to all contest entrants, and have a wonderful summer!
