Representatives Darin LaHood (R-IL) and Stephanie Murphy (D-FL) introduced the bipartisan amendment dubbed the ‘Clean Start: Back to Work Tax Credit Act’ on May 29. This piece of legislation aims to assist businesses reopen safely for workers and patrons alike.

The tax credit would be temporary and may be used to help offset the costs of professional cleaning services, purchasing EPA-approved cleaning products, sanitary-related equipment (ex: sanitization stations, no-touch disposal receptacles,etc.), as well as training employees on proper cleaning protocols. Qualified expenses would also include personal protective equipment (PPE).
