Aftermath Attends LE Events in New York and Minnesota

Aftermath celebrated spring in a big way this year, shaking off the winter chill with a number of exciting conferences. Professional law enforcement organizations serve as an important resource to their members, many of who occupy important leadership roles within their local agencies. Conferences provide ongoing training, as well as an opportunity to network with others in their field. The events also give businesses like Aftermath a chance to meet officers face to face, answer their questions, and address their needs and concerns.

Below are just two of the many conferences Aftermath has attended nationwide in the past few weeks. We look forward to meeting many more officers in the coming months!

Minnesota Chiefs of Police ETI 2018, April 23rd-24th

Last month, Patrick Leone, Aftermath’s Senior Manager of Law Enforcement Relations in the Midwest, paid a visit to a conference in Minnesota. This year, more than 300 chiefs of police, law enforcement supervisors and leaders attended the Minnesota Chiefs of Police 2018 Executive Training Institute (ETI) and Law Enforcement Expo in Duluth, MN.  The annual conference provides 4 days of educational sessions, plus an awards banquet and networking events.

According to the organization’s website, the association was founded in 1954 as a training and social organization to network and exchange ideas between law enforcement agencies. It represents nearly 900 police chiefs, retired chiefs, and law enforcement leaders in Minnesota and the surrounding states.

This was Patrick’s first time at the yearly conference, but the 4th year for the company. “I met a lot of people who had wonderful things to say about Aftermath,” said Patrick. “Two separate Chiefs approached me about jobs we did in their towns and they were beyond appreciative with the quality work we did. They stated the families were very happy with our services.”

At the Aftermath booth, Patrick fielded questions from attendees. Many MCOP members were already familiar with Aftermath. They were excited about some of Aftermath’s giveaways, including light-up balls with the company logo. Said Patrick: “The balls were very memorable. Officers were talking about them at other booths and directing others our way to get one. It was a good attention-grabber.” Patrick also gave away a signature Aftermath 5.11 Go Bag and PPE Kit. The winner was Detective Sergeant Mike Schlitz of the Savage Police Department.

New York Tactical Officers Association Conference, April 24th-25th

At the same time states away, Aftermath’s Ken Rosa was in Verona, New York for the New York Tactical Officer’s Association Conference. “The event is very focused on training,” Ken reported. “After the day is over, the officers gather for dinner and drinks, and some low key networking. They were interested to learn about our locations and about how we work with insurance companies to ensure families are taken care of during their time of need.”

Attendees were mostly tactical officers, plus detectives, sergeants and lieutenants. Ken handed out information on biohazard cleaning and conducted a drawing for a 5.11 Tactical Bag and PPE kit. The prize was awarded to Officer Greg Bund of the Amherst Police Department. “Many visitors came up and talked to me and asked questions on locations, insurance,  and our response time,” said Ken. “A lot of the officers also took our tear-off cards for their departments. All in all, it was a good conference, and we hope to return again next year.”
