Aftermath Visits LE Events in New Hampshire and Colorado

The summer has unofficially begun, and so has the summer conference season! Last week Aftermath hit the road, attending events all across the US. Our Senior Managers traveled through the Rocky Mountains and along the east coast, speaking to police officers and other law enforcement officials on the value of PPE and the importance of professional biohazard cleanup. Find out more about their travels, and keep up with Aftermath as we make our way to your area later this season!

Stopping in at the NHCOPA Public Safety Conference and Expo

Ken Rosa, Aftermath’s Senior Manager of Law Enforcement Relations in New England, attended the New Hampshire Chiefs of Police Association Public Safety Conference in Manchester, New Hampshire. The goal of the NHCOPA is to enhance the professional and personal relationships among commanding officers while advocating for public safety and creating a positive and cooperative environment for networking between offices. Members seek to elevate the standards of police service and uphold the integrity of the profession through continuous training. The organization also sponsors networking and educational opportunities like the bi-annual conference and expo.

This year, the Public Safety Conference featured a golf tournament, training sessions on a variety of topics concerning management and policing strategies, and a vendor expo. On the vendor floor, many attending chiefs, deputies, and other members of law enforcement stopped by to speak with Ken on the importance of bloodborne pathogen safety, and how Aftermath advocates for the proper use of PPE by educating both our employees and consumers alike. The officers were also interested to learn about how Aftermath works with homeowners insurance to lessen the burden on victims and their families.

There were plenty of giveaways to complement the conversations. Officers picked up brochures, magnets, carabiners, and other Aftermath merchandise. As June is National Safety Month, Ken also gave away a full set of PPE like the ones Aftermath technicians use every day. The winner was Emily Cobb of the New London Police Department. Congratulations to Emily, and thank you to all those who networked with Ken during the event!

Connecting In Colorado at the CCA Conference

Meanwhile across the plains, Tony Cusinato headed to the Colorado Coroners Association’s Annual 3-Day Conference, held in Fort Collins, Colorado. According to the organization’s website, “the Colorado Coroners Association was formed in 1988 with the goal of providing continuing education for Colorado Coroners. Colorado Coroners take advantage of continuing education provided by the association’s programs as well as numerous other training programs provided on the national level.”

The yearly CoCA conference features seminars on subjects specifically important to forensics investigators; this year’s agenda included informative sessions on specific types of crime scenes, from mass casualty to elderly death investigations. Tony secured a great booth location in the vendor hall, where he spoke to many coroners, deputy coroners, and investigators from state and local agencies. He also hosted a drawing for two 5-11 tactical bags with PPE kits. The winners were Coroner Andrew Lorenson of Lincoln County and James Macnaughton of the Larimer County Coroner and Medical Examiner’s Office.

In addition to networking in the vendor hall, the organization also sponsored a dinner and movie night that enabled attendees to relax and spend time with their peers. When not attending to business, members also enjoyed the vibrant Fort Collins location, visiting local restaurants and establishments and engaging in hiking and other outdoor activities. Tony stated that he had wonderful interactions with many of the attendees; he looks forward to sharing more about Aftermath with the Colorado area in the coming months!

Coast to Coast And Nationwide

Our summer convention circuit is truly heating up this year. Conferences like NHCOPA and CoCA offer us a great chance to meet officers and others who serve and protect our communities, to answer their questions face-to-face, and to share with them our expertise and the importance of crime scene cleanup.

And because we know that officers consistently go the extra mile to help their communities, we’re also excited to announce that our Why We Serve Service Grant Competition is already underway! If you know an officer who is seeking to find a way to make their community a better place, fill out a nomination on our website by July 9th, 2018. Then stay tuned and vote for your favorite causes. You local hero could win one of several service grants for their charity or community organization!
