Aftermath and CSCU Attend 31st Annual Police and Security Expo
Last week, Aftermath and east coast sister company CSCU joined over 4500 police chiefs, detectives, and other law enforcement professionals for the Police & Security Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In its 31st year, the Expo is the largest and longest running LE trade show in North America. The event, hosted by the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJACOP), now boasts over 750 exhibits, seminars, and demonstrations.
Though the schedule packs a multitude of innovative ideas and exceptional training into two short days, attendees always save plenty of time for a tour around the vendor hall. It’s part of what makes this fast paced show one of our best and busiest!
CSCU and Aftermath: Two Decades of Teamwork
In the New England area, consumers are most familiar with the CSCU name. The company joined forces with Aftermath almost 20 years ago, with the shared mission of providing top quality cleanup to families on the Atlantic coast and nationwide. John Tyler, long-time Senior Law Enforcement Relations and Marketing Officer for both Aftermath and CSCU, has been visiting the expo for almost as long as the companies have been in business. This year, the conference veteran was accompanied by Tina Bao, Aftermath’s CMO, and Sarah and Paul of the nearby Bayview office.
Tina brought a host of Aftermath items to hand out to attendees who visited the booth. Items ranged from pens and water bottles, to air fresheners and chapstick. The crew also gave away numerous prizes. Lt. Willian Cahill of the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department in Pennsylvania (pictured) won Aftermath’s signature drawing: a PPE Kit w/ 5.11 Tactical Bag. Also, as part of the many door prizes awarded during the event, Chief David W. Uron of the Barrington PD in New Jersey won a tactical bag and Kenneth Leeks, with the MNCPPC Park Police in Landover, Maryland, won a PPE Kit.
New Contacts, Old Friends
The giveaways were a draw for some conference goers, while others simply stopped by to express gratitude for the services the companies provide. Though the familar brand is CSCU, both companies maintain a great reputation among local law enforcement. “Those who had cause to use our services reflected on the excellent response time and overall quality of the work performed. We have lots of local references,” John explained.
There was also a good mix of new faces in crowd. “Many of the Chiefs have retired, and it was nice to meet their replacements and remind them that we’re here to help.” John also noted that the location of the Expo makes for an excellent event. “All ranks were represented from both Police and Sheriff’s Offices, and we even met a few Coroners.”
Beyond the vendor showcases and professional seminars, many vendors and professional associations hosted hospitality, networking, and reception events at the area casinos. One of the highlights for the Aftermath team was being invited to these more personal meetups. “CSCU has a great working relationship with Monmouth County Chiefs Association,“John explained. “Our crew was proud to accept the organization’s invitation to their reception at the Resorts Casino.”
