Visiting the MOCIC Conference and Training Session

Conference season continues through the month of August and into September! Aftermath has trekked all over the nation to meet with police, first responders, and other professionals, with the purpose of sharing our mission: to help families recover from difficult tragedies by providing top quality biohazard cleaning services.

We ARE in Kansas!

Last week, Aftermath attended the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center, or MOCIC Conference and Training Session, held in Wichita, Kansas. Serving Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, as well as parts of Canada, MOCIC is part of the Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Program. According to the organization’s website, RISS “provides services and resources that directly impact law enforcement’s ability to successfully resolve criminal investigations and prosecute offenders while providing the critical officer safety event deconfliction necessary to keep the men and women of our law enforcement community safe.”
.
“This is the 36th year for the session, but it’s first time I have attended this event,” remarked Aftermath’s Senior Manager of Law Enforcement Relations, Tony Cusinato. “The overall atmosphere was positive and the attendees were very interested in what we do.”

In the Vendor Hall

During the conference, Tony spoke with many officers. Some of his most memorable discussions were shared with Paul Weber from the Hastings Police Department. Tony also met with other vendors, including Sean Gallagher from Beyond This Day, a company that creates professional memorial books/boxes for presentation to grieving families.

According to Tony, the most asked question at MOCIC included the location of our offices, as well as queries about response time, and the services we provide. He handed out literature, including magnets and marketing materials. He also raffled off a 5-11 tactical Bag with a PPE kit. The winner was David Billings from the Raymore Police Department.

In addition to the vendor area, conference goers attended breakout sessions on topics such as missing children, drug control, and working with social media. There were also plenty of networking opportunities, and an awards ceremony. Tfirst night of the training even concluded with a bus trip to the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper, a Wichita dinner theater showcase. There were also extracurricular activities throughout the week for spouses who came along.

A Big Thank You to MOCIC and All Our First Responders

At the end of the event, Tony expressed his gratitude to the attendees. “It was an honor for us to show our support for police departments throughout Mid-West. We greatly appreciate the commitment and service that those in Law Enforcement make for the their citizens. That is why it was important for us to show our support as an exhibitor at this conference.”

If you are a member of law enforcement, we would loved to stay connected with you, too! If you can’t find us at a local conference, keep track of us online.
