Aftermath Announces the 2017 Why We Serve Service Grant Finalists

This morning, we’re excited to announce the four finalists in Aftermath’s #WhyWeServe Service Grant Competition! Voting for the $5000 grant begins August 1st and is open to all. More information will follow in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, here are the finalists and their chosen community organizations, in no particular order:

  • Deputy Brittany Whitcomb of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky chose the Amanda Center as her charity. The center is a division of the Sheriff’s Victim Services Division in Fayette County.
  • Officer Janie Staples of the St. Petersburg Police Department in Florida selected Police Explorers Program #980 as her community organization of choice.
  • Community Engagement Officer Scott Marks of the Minnetonka Police Department of Minnesota supports the department’s Aftercare and Officer Wellness Program.
  • Lieutenant Andy Wilburn of Radford City Police Department of Virginia named the Save the Next Girl Foundation as his charity of choice.

Officers, if you submitted a video but did not make it into the finals, we still appreciate your participation and willingness to share your story!
