Charlotte, NC – In Charlotte, North Carolina, a man passed away unattended in the bedroom of his home. Tragically, his body was not discovered until several weeks later, and Aftermath was called in to remediate the death scene. Technicians discovered biofluids on the floor beside the bed, but because of the large amount of personal items in the room, the bio never actually reached the floor. They also noted a strong smell of decomposition throughout the premises.
After disposing of the affected items as medical waste, technicians placed the remaining personal items in black bags and moved them to another area to prepare the room’s surfaces for a full three-step biowash. Once the room was clear, the crew cleaned and disinfected the space, testing and retesting the room’s surfaces to be sure all bacteria was completely removed. Lastly, they deodorized the home using a HEPA air scrubber, thereby making the home safe and livable once more.
